A parody of Hyperbolic proportions regarding climate change. The next big crisis is upon us all. Or is it?
Music video dedicated to my grandkids
It is a song about the next generation – individuality and freedom to love and create and harmonize with nature despite obstacles placed in our wake. It is about not following the crowd because some of the greatest people, flawed as they were, sacrificed themselves to help free the human spirit and to help obliterate human bondage and pursue the path required by destiny for all humankind.
Music is a snapshot in time. It articulates in an emotive way the discordance of thoughts and passions of the occasion, whether it be joyful or sorrowful. “Pyramids in the Sand” was written at such a time when I was resigned to what I believed was inevitable. Luckily, the universe stepped in to correct my misgivings. The rivers of life converged once again to stay the course. Thank the lord!
I like to wish all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Joyous Kwanzaa. It has been a difficult year for our family, and truthfully Christmas will be a sad reflection for us since Matt was born on December 29th. Nevertheless, here is my Christmas card in a style reflective of the great Vince Guaraldi of Peanuts fame.
In the light of recent events, one searches for reasons where none are forthcoming, or not meant to be discovered. There are times of reflection and regrets that inhabit the space of your mind during times of self-inflicted isolation. But hope always rises to the top. To be honest I don’t know specifically what this song represents. It’s more a snapshot in time of random thoughts and …regrets. A momentary glimpse is an optimistic prevue to hope, that what has been lost, will once again be recovered.
An original Tune as a tribute to the Latin Jazz greats. There are many that have been mentioned in the video. The title refers to a peaceful soul; something I always aspire to, but difficult when a loved one has passed.
The Style is a kind of Jazz Blues with a wistful intro and ending and Jazz/blues background for narrative, and a faster jazz pace form “band” the sequences. The Narration is tongue and cheek with a message to just live life no matter if you have flowers or weeds. There have been some cool deans- James Dean, Dean Moriarity, Dean Koontz, Dean Stockwell…there are others, I’m sure.
An original tribute to some of the jazz greats from the past. Rock and Roll owes much of its heart and soul to past performers who weren't afraid to shake things up, musically and socially speaking. It all stems from the love of music. It is my personal saving grace from the confusion and turmoil in the world we all occupy. May peace and cooler heads prevail.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah. To all not of either faith, happy holy holidays. May peace reign in your hearts, with a song of gladness. Whether it be rock and roll or one of sadnessNo one is immune from the pouring rainBut the melodies of joy can soothe the painSo, raise a toast to the seasonBecause all things happen for a reason. Enjoy the video
Parody on being locked down. I’m sure I’m not the only one who felt that way.
It's a music video about the redemption of hope, despite obstacles that are placed along the road.
Love predestined and dedicated to my lovely wife of nearly 46 years.
A tribute to Harold Arlen, one of the great composers of the 20th century. This is my arrangement of a famous song. No, we're not in Kansas anymore.
This arrangement – Ray Charles style. Happy New Year to all! And on behalf of the Meola family and my Dodging Cupid family I wish you a peace and love filled year. Today would have been my son’s 38th birthday, and even though he is not here in body, he is always here in spirit. Here’s to the better angels of our nature.
In a troublesome world there is the hope
This is dedicated to all the furry friends that have given our lives comfort even at our lowest points. There are a number of others I’ve lost since this composition. Each one has touched me in a unique way. I miss them all.
This video is my visual and musical interpretation of two Rodger's and Hart's compositions, from "Manhattan Melodrama" and "Pal Joey". The team of Rodgers and Hart went on to compose over 500 works together and are an integral part of America's musical legacy.
Another interpretation of a jazz classic based on the 1947 movie, “Green Dolphin Street”, a movie I’m willing to bet most have never seen. "On Green Dolphin Street" is a 1947 popular song composed by Bronisław Kaper / Ned Washington. Made into jazz classic by miles Davis in 1958. "Nothing living should ever be treated with contempt. Whatever it is that lives, a man, a tree, or a bird, should be touched gently, because the time is short. Civilization is another word for respect for life...”
The hardships of the soldiers' widows are real. This video is a derivation of one I did earlier called: Starlight Memoirs". Please remember those that have lost ones due to conflicts, especially this time of year.
In scientific terms a shadow is an absence of light obstructed by an object. Metaphorically speaking, shadows have a different meaning to different people. Typically, they represent some form of negative trait like a repressed emotion or a fear stemming from some past trauma or memorable event. They also can represent a form of self-introspection and protection. Shadows change to the proximity of the light from sunup to sunset, and are seasonal in their appearance, which in a sense makes them time dependent. They are a part of who we are from youth to old age, and like the old radio program used to broadcast; “…the shadow knows…”.g me to add paragraph to your block, write your own text and edit me.
Dedicted to Dad
It's a music video dedicated to our soldiers and the people they left behind to defend freedom. They are often overlooked. I have more verses for the ballad, but it would extend the song too much.
Music originally composed by Ennio Morricone – performed and arranged by C.G. Meola. The Good, and Ugly is one of my favorite Westerns, and the composer did a brilliant job of enhancing the cinematic masterpiece. Clint Eastwood and John Wayne – can’t get enough of their Westerns.

The counterculture of the 1920’s and 30s show that your Grandparents and Parents were pretty cool people. I’m a classic rock and roll guy, but my hope is that this music will remain for all generations to enjoy. This is my musical arrangements and production of two Cole Porter classics along with some images of the stars that played in the original productions, and a glimpse of some of the Lost Generation individuals who spawned a creative movement of their time.
This original is dedicated to the bands that I've had associations with and continue to do so. This is still in keeping with my current hobby of arranging old jazz classics - only this one is not a classic, but my attempt at a jazz original.
Dedicated to all the artists, musicians, and writers who at one time or another have hit the wall:
When your head comes to a stallAnd your ideas just seem to fallWhen everything you touch seems so roteWhen words get hung deep in your throatOr the paint can’t seem to hit the zoneWhen the music seems so monotoneJust sit back, relax and call intermissionHit the pause button and wait for ignition.
Life is a constant flow of changes. Very little remains consistent in our journey. The one stable in my life has been my wife of 46 years. The marital excursion has been riddled with a mixture of joy, sadness, hope, change, and redemption. Glass rainbow is about going through the tough times, but always having your soulmate there as a support. It was written many years ago- another snapshot in time in our pictorial album of life.
Dedicated to my Grandkids and Great Grandkids. Given the times we live in, children are often the first in the line of fire as political ideologies are no longer the domain of the political class but have been filtered down to the innocent. Independent thinking becomes more difficult in the current political environment.
Due to the relativity of time, and the relative motion of the observer, time passes at different rates for different observers. Of course, the scientific explanation is much more complex, but when you think about your life experiences it just seems to me that time is not linear but passes at different velocities at various times in your life. It seems slow when your young and passes more quickly as you age. That’s why is critically important to consider time a finite resource that you should use in loving family and making peace with those around you.
I’mA Instrumental piece that incorporates rhythmic variations. I had some words but didn't fit the song.
A romanticized song about a Venezuelan beach - 50 years ago. The people of Venezuela are lovely and passionate. Dedicated to my cousins who have lived there all their lives.
The music video is a tongue in cheek tribute to the old-style rock and roll and the muses that inspire musicians everywhere.
It has been said that the “elder shall serve the younger” while another famous quote states that “youth is wasted on the young.” These statements are at odds with each other but the responsibility for future generations lies with the sagacity of the aged to guide their progeny toward a healthy, inquisitive, optimistic, innovative, loving, and socially responsible life. In some regards the senior establishment has failed them and has instead filled them full of fear, despair, war, loss of innocence, and confusion. This song is about the elderly reaching out to the young, by displaying those attributes that keep them young as an example of our most precious commodities.
Revolution’s love is the name of the prologue to a story of a book I started writing years ago, but never had the time to focus. The song itself is an expression of the prologue of that story. The narrative in the first few minutes is a partial piece of the preface in the book. It is of course fiction, but one wonders after a good deal of suspension of belief that is needed, what would happen if there was no night upon the earth. If night truly passed as a distant memory, and darkness barely reached the level of civil twilight, something approaching 10 x greater lumens than a full moon. How would humanity react? How would they respond if the trees and grass turned a peculiar hue, or if the crickets stopped chirping, and the flowers no longer closed their pedals to nightly retreat? How would the nocturnal inhabitants of this planet adjust? How would the psychology of the human mind behave when the newly formed Suns blot out the stars, and there are multiple orbs that rule the sky? Of course, what of the governments? Would they not strengthen their grip on the people, while dispensationalist and various other groups grow as rebellious sects to offset the authoritarian reaction of the people in charge?
Before Eve was Rosetta. She stood among the creatures of the celestial plane.Exquisite in her countenance, she was a forebearer of the poetic kings and queens a sisterhood to the blessed Gaia. The one who could resist temptationthrough her charm and grace that even Lucifer resigned himselfo despondency at her unrelenting lurehe was both joy and heartbreak forevern the form of the most magnificent creatures of all-women. Long live her legacy.
This song was originally done as a love song for my dear wife. It was made a week before we lost our son. Gray Rock still holds a special place in our hearts and memories of young lovers.
It’s been 6 months since Matthew’s departure from this earth. He had his faults and weaknesses, but a measure of a man should be gaged by his kindness toward others. In that regard he was a good soul. I miss him dearly. I do what I do in his memory. The music I produce falls short of the gap he left in my heart, but it helps to perpetuate his memory
The song is a reference to a trip taken a long time ago. One of the things I’ll never regret was my trip to Alaka via the Yukon territory in the mid-seventies. A fascinating land with fascinating people. My friend and I came across several people along the Alcan highway. You pick up hitchhikers on that road since at that time vehicle traffic was sparse and the road filled with potholes and gravel. You never know what emergencies may arise when people are stranded, so as a courtesy you accommodate them. We went at a time when the homestead act was still in place, and the pipeline was in full construction mode. A number of people took the opportunity to try settling in the vastness of the land, and some found the harshness of the winters too much to bear, so they abandoned the homesteads. My wife and I are hoping for another shot sometime soon – nearly 50 years later.
IIt’s the one-year anniversary of Matthews passing. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him. I devote my music and writings to him, whether the content is directly regarding him or not. He will not be forgotten. RIP, my son.
